What are some important practices for an enterprise data warehouse?

Data governance and clearly defined business requirements are essential components of a strong enterprise warehouse, along with having scalable ingestion processes and keeping data consistent and quality. Enterprise data warehouse best practices also involve data ownership and data definition. It should also be thought of from the outset, not after the fact. Regular performance, storage growth and query usage monitoring should be conducted by teams. It's the same with documentation: Several departments could rely on the same data. Maintaining a modular structure simplifies changes down the road, and ensures that the warehouse is able to accommodate new reporting, analytics, and business needs without extensive redesigns.
